1. What is Civil Air Patrol?
As the Official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force, Civil Air Patrol is a
non-combatant volunteer organization composed of citizens who
are interested in providing a service to their community, state and nation.
2. Is Civil Air Patrol the active military?
No. Civil Air Patrol is a non-profit volunteer organization. You are not committed nor
obligated to any standing military contracts or enlistment
in the United States military.
3. Is there a cost involved to Join?
Yes. There are dues associated with joining Civil Air Patrol. However, this program is
made to be cost-effective for individuals wishing to join
the program. Contact our squadron for more information.
4. Do I have to wear a uniform?
Yes. As the Auxiliary of the United States Air Force you are authorized to wear the Air Force style uniform.
5. How much time do I have to obligate?
Cadet's meet once a week on Thursday evenings and Senior members meet on the first and
third Wednesday of the month. Beyond that
we offer professional development courses, weekend training activities, and other general
activities to advance your training within the
program.
6. Do I get to fly planes?
Possibly. We offer orientation flights to cadets who earn them as part of your
promotion phase. If your interested in joining the Senior Member
program, we also offer specialty training in aerial Search and Rescue related skills.
